Strafford Regional Planning Commission

The CEDS is both a document and a process; it is designed to bring together both private and public sectors to create a roadmap to strengthen regional economies. Strafford Regional Planning Commission (SRPC) will be responsible for developing and implementing a CEDS for Strafford County and the Towns of Brookfield and Wakefield in Carroll County.

The purpose of this web site is to encourage use of the regional ITS architecture and gather feedback so that the architecture is used and continues to reflect the intelligent transportation system vision for the region. Sections provide access to the stakeholders, the transportation systems in the region (the Inventory), the transportation-related functions that are envisioned, and the existing and planned integration opportunities in the region.

Energy Efficiency Appendix

As part of Local Solutions for the Strafford Region, Strafford Regional Planning Commission is completing an Energy Efficiency and Green Building Appendix for the regional master plan.. The purpose of this appendix is to discuss the challenge of providing for our daily travel, our homes, business and local government, and to offer guidance and strategies for preparing for a changing energy future. The burning of fossil fuels for energy and transportation contributes to climate change that results in more frequent and damaging storms. The energy sector is vulnerable to several severe storm threats that may effect our communities directly. However, progress is being made. The New England region provides a national example of successful interstate cooperation to reduce greenhouse gas emissions. Federal, state, and local incentives are enabling municipalities, homes, and business to reduce costs, locally generate clean energy from renewable sources, and build resilient infrastructure. The final section of the appendix presents resources for continuing progress toward a more sustainable energy future for communities of the Strafford region. The draft for this document will be availble on December 7, 2014.
