New Grant Programs

NH Housing Finance Authority: Inclusionary Zoning Implementation Program (IZIP)

New Hampshire Housing Finance Authority, recognizing an immediate need by municipalities in the state, has launched a new grant program to assist municipalities to address difficulties in creating and adopting local “inclusionary zoning” ordinances, regulations to encourage the development of affordable housing. Municipalities can apply for competitive funding. In addition to the grant funds, New Hampshire Housing will also provide grant recipients with technical assistance and communications strategies to help the public understand the need for affordable workforce housing.

New Hampshire Housing Finance Authority: Inclusionary Zoning Implementation Program (IZIP) has grants of up to $9000 for municipalities to develop and adopt inclusionary zoning ordinaces. http://www.nhhfa.org/rl_zoning.cfm

Office of Energy and Planning is administering the Housing and Conservation Planning Program (HCPP) that enables municipalities to obtain valuable financial and technical resources to help communities develop local plans. Municipalities often face conflicting pressures for managing growth: protecting the area’s natural resources and character, while meeting the housing needs of current and future residents. The Program will award technical assistance grants to interested communities.
